I am lucky enough to have two Thanksgivings every year. One here in Canada with the In-Laws and one in Ohio with my family. So needless to say I will be preparing my own fare for the American Thanksgiving. Luckily I have my Vegan (sometimes) sister, who should be safely back in the states now, to help with the cooking/planning.
I did stumble across an idea I want to explore for Vegan cooking while I was reading blogs tonight, which made me feel a bit better.
I really don't have anything else to post, which is good because I don't want to depress anyone who stumbles on this.

I think it's good to post about both sides of the coin... not just the "sunny" side. This is reality!
Atleast you had a "trial run" for the next one and some practice time in between... what is your plan/thoughts?
PS: I'm not 100% Vegan so I've already experienced some issues with friends, but it's not quite the same.
Life is all about learning. Now you know that you need to make your own food and be more prepared-no big deal. Trust me, every vegan you meet is going to have at least one (and probably more) crappy holiday stories to tell. Just think about how much better the American Thanksgiving will be now that you had a bit of a trial run!
Tara, thanks for the encouragement. :)
Lenora, I think that I should have better communicated what my needs are, so I plan to rectify this with the American Thanksgiving. We should have discussed how everyone feels about my not eating meat (so nobody would be offended or think I was being picky/uppity). Also, I should have been more insistent on making some Vegan dishes for the dinner. In preparation for the American Thanksgiving, I'd like to test some Omni-friendly dishes on my Omni spouse.
